Hi, I'm Johanna Adojaan.

ADO STUDIO was born out of a love for making things yourself, by hand, and finding and bringing joy to the everyday.

My background is in fine art photography, studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. It was during a student exchange in China that I first stepped into a ceramics studio – and ended up spending half a year there, hands in clay. Back in Estonia years later, a workshop with a local artist set the snowball rolling again, and here we are. In 2025, a residency in Jingdezhen, China's porcelain capital, brought it all full circle.

Alongside ceramics, I work as a freelance photographer, copywriter, graphic designer, and illustrator. Always creating something. I feel like the things we use every day become companions – and it makes a difference when those companions have a little character of their own.

When I'm not covered in clay, you can usually find me hunting for old treasures, lost in a juicy book, sipping tea or at the cinema.
